FERHRI has small research vessels (about 90 tons) for coastal zone monitoring and ocean-going ships of different classes (from 930 to 4100 tons). These research vessels are capable to carry out marine expeditions in any place of the World Ocean including Arctic and Antarctic. R/Vs can support from 10 to 55 scientific personnel and have echosounders, bow thrusters, A-frames, whinches, CTDs and meteorological devices. Sampling of seawater, bottom sediments and plankton as well as other kinds of fieldwork can be done using these research vessels. During the last years, specialists from Canada, D.P.R.K., Japan, Republic of Korea, the United States and Vietnam worked aboard FERHRI research vessels in the Pacific Ocean and its marginal seas.
