Regulatory and Environmental experience with:

Large-scale development projects

Starting from 2000 FERHRI has been working on the UNDP/GEF Tumen River Project (http://www.tumennet.org). Among the participants of the project there are Republic of Korea, DPRK, Russia, China and Mongolia. It is a joint effort of North-Eastern Asia countries to protect the precious biodiversity and international water resources of the Tumen River Economic Development Area and to attract "green" investment. Funded by the Governments of China, Mongolia, the Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation this initiative was successful at attracting funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for a 2-year project Preparation of a Strategic Action Program (SAP) and Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) for the Tumen River Area, its coastal regions and related North Eastern Asia environments.

TDA section and subsidiary sections are currently being performed; Tumen River area is about 4000 km in length. FERHRI is responsible for the whole marine section of the project and for the river section of the project on the part of Russia.
